Review: ToppingKids Tackaon – 4 Parts Plate

As a mum, I’ve gone through my fair share of kids’ plates — melamine ones with cute cartoon characters, silicone bowls and plates that promised suction magic, and even those trendy sets that come with too many parts to wash. But the Tackaon 4-Parts Plate? Hands down the best one we’ve used!

I started out like most parents, picking up colourful melamine plates because they were cheap and cheerful, and corresponds to the whatever cartoons my kids were into at that point in time (unicorns! spiderman! baby shark!). But once I read more about the potential health concerns (especially with heat), I started rethinking what I was serving food in.

Then, I chanced upon the Tackaon 4-Parts Plate.

What is it?

The Tackaon 4-Parts Plate is a beautifully-made ceramic plate from Korea, designed with four thoughtfully sized compartments. It’s microwave-safe, easy to clean, and deep enough to hold everything from rice and soup to fruit and sides — all without mixing into a soggy mess. The plate has a simple, modern look and is part of Tackaon’s signature approach to functional, everyday ceramics.

How we use it

We eat a lot of Asian meals at home, so I needed a plate that could hold rice, soup, and sides — and still have room for fruit. This one does all of that. The deep compartments are rare and super useful.

It also works perfectly for snack time — we fill it with fruit, nuts, and crackers — or even Western meals like mac and cheese with sides. It’s become our go-to plate for almost every meal.

What I like about it

I was especially reassured by how it’s made with ECOZEN, a BPA-free material that does not generate endocrine disruptors even if it holds hot food.

It’s dishwasher-friendly, but also so easy to hand-wash. No hidden crevices or suction bases that collect grime. I’ve used a bunch of silicone plates and bowls when my kids were younger — they always seemed to go mouldy or turn gross over time. But not this Tackaon plate.

The clean design is another big plus — it doesn’t scream “baby plate,” so older kids can use it too. My eldest is now in primary school and still loves using it.

Would I recommend it?

Highly, highly recommend — especially if you’re tired of juggling multiple bowls and plates for one child’s meal!
